In this post I'm going to show a couple of examples of using af:iterator component to render HashMap values. Let's say in my managed bean I have the following HashMap: private Map m = new HashMap(); { m.put("One",true); m.put("Two",false); m.put("Three",true); } (more)

For the conclusion, just skip to the last section. One of the more recent Android ADT updates added Android Lint. Lint will check your Android project for simples things that you can change to improve your app. Lint notifies you about things like:Unused resources Simple code changes to improve performance Inefficiencies in XML layouts such as nested weights or unused layouts And a few other things. Saturday, September 01, 2012 6:38:10 PM GMT
This article will describe the complete root cause analysis and solution of a HashMap High CPU problem (infinite looping) affecting a Weblogic 10.0 environment running on the Java HotSpot VM 1.5. This case study will again demonstrate this importance of mastering Thread Dump analysis skill and CPU correlation techniques such as Solaris prstat. (more)

Java 7: HashMap vs ConcurrentHashMap ~ Java EE Support Patterns

As you may have seen from my past performance related articles and HashMap case studies, Java thread safety problems can bring down your Java EE application and the Java EE container fairly easily. One of most common problems I have observed when troubleshooting Java EE performance problems is infinite looping triggered from the non-thread safe HashMap get() and put() operations. (more)

Difference between HashMap and HashTable? Can we make hashmap synchronized?

posted by anishaanisha 620 days, 21 hours, 25 minutes ago
Tuesday, August 07, 2012 6:35:40 PM GMT
This question oftenly asked in interview to check whether candidate understand correct usage of collection classes and aware of alternative solutions available. 1. The HashMap class is roughly equivalent to Hashtable, except that it is non synchronized and permits nulls. (HashMap allows null values as key and value whereas Hashtable doesn't allow nulls).2. HashMap does not guarantee that the order of the map will remain constant over time.3. HashMap is non synchronized whereas Hashtable is synchronized.... (more)

Hash table based implementation of the Map interface. This implementation provides all of the optional map operations, and permits null values and the null key. (The HashMap class is roughly equivalent to Hashtable, except that it is unsynchronized and permits nulls.) This class makes no guarantees as to the order of the map; in particular, it does not guarantee that the order will remain constant over time. (more)
