OMG, I was looking the whole day why on earth my Pojos were not injected with the @Inject annotation. The little devils were always null and google had answers, but not the ones I needed. Then, thank god, I came over that article of Adam Bien: http://www.adam-bien.com/roller/abien/entry/simplestpossiblepojoinjectionexample You can inject objects by annotating a field with javax.inject.Inject:@Stateless public class Cart { @Inject OrderSystem ordering; @Inject CustomerNotification ... Java Evangelist John Yeary's Blog: JSF 2.x Injecting @ManagedBean Instances

posted by tracytracy 632 days, 15 hours, 35 minutes ago
Tuesday, July 24, 2012 7:00:34 PM GMT
Here are three ways to inject a @ManagedBean into another @ManagedBean. In Java EE 6, the preferred method is to use the @ManagedProperty annotation. You can however use JSF 2.x in Java EE 5. You must simply replace the current JSF implementation with Mojarra 2.x. If this is the case,  the use of annotations is not possible. Two techniques below will work on EE5 and EE6 applications. @ManagedPropertyThe @ManagedProperty annotation will work on Java EE 6 applications as noted. To use the annotation,  you... (more)

12Jan I have already written about the Spring Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP) with the use of simple logging example. But, somehow I felt that the example code was little confusing for the newcomers. So, I decided to write a new Spring AOP example code that explains how to use Spring AOP for profiling method execution time.Using Spring AOP to profile method execution time: The example I chose is very simple – our application has a business class and a business method. We are going to profile how much... (more)

Random Thoughts » Getting Started with Spring Web Flow – Part 1

Spring Web Flow is a sub project of Spring that can be used to model user interface activities as flows. For example, consider the scenario of looking up an employee using an Employee directory application. This activity involves entering the employee’s name, filtering through the search results and viewing the details of the employee. Spring Web Flow makes it easy to define and implement such activities as flows. In this post, I will discuss the details involved in creating a simple web flow applicatio... (more)

I have recently been bitten by the NoSQL bug - or as colleague of mine Mark Atwell coined "Burn the Where!" movement. While I have no intention of shunning friendly "SELECT ... WHERE" anytime soon - or in foreseeable future, I did manage to get my hands dirty with some code. In this article I share the knowledge of my first attempts in NoSQL world. In this article we will aim to get a basic java application up and running that is capable of interacting with MongoDB. By itself that is not really a tal... (more)

jQuery, the JavaScript library provides some powerful set of jQuery AJAX API’s to handle AJAX requests. The normal way of making AJAX calls using JavaScript is a bit odd as you have to first create an XMLHttpRequest object that depends on the browser and then make an AJAX call. Also sending a form data using AJAX is also bit difficult if we use normal JavaScript approach of calling AJAX. jQuery provides simple yet powerfull functions which have extended the JavaScript AJAX methods and provid...
