Readers of my blog may have noticed my love (1) hate (2) (3) relationship with my current IDE: Eclipse PDT. We have our ups & downs, this has never changed. This example demonstrates how to configure hibernate framework for running a simple standalone program. Here the sample program uses programmatic configuration to set all the properties required for running hibernate. Also the example uses derby as the database to connect and update the values. This is not the big change, you only have to change few parameters if you are using any other databases. (more)

In last Spring MVC form handling example, we should you the use of SimpleFormController to handle single page form submission, which is quite straightforward and easy. But, sometimes, you may need to deal with “wizard form“, which need handle form into multiple pages, and ask user to fill in the form page by page. The main concern in this wizard form situation is how to store the model data (data filled in by user) and bring it across multiple pages?SAbstractWizardFormController Fortunately, Spring MVC... After one month of evaluation of the frameworks and tools, i choose ExtJS for UI and Spring/SpringMVC for business layer for my pet project. Again by using ExtJS we can send data to server by form submits or as request parameters or in json format through Ajax requests. ExtJS uses JSON format in many situations to hold data. So I thought using JSON as data exchange format between EXTJS and Spring will be consistent. (more)
